conservationThere is simply never enough energy to waste. Quite simply, energy is the ability to do work. And fuel is needed to create that energy. Coal, oil, natural gas, even the uranium needed to make nuclear power are nonrenewable sources. Fossil fuels (like coal, oil and gas) aren't just nonrenewable; they are dirty. They need to be burned to produce energy and that burning causes air pollution. Using less energy means using less fuel. Please help us conserve UCI:
The concept of sustainability goes hand-in-hand with conservation. Sustainability refers to the conservative and wise use of finite, natural resources with a view towards long-term priorities. Keeping the Campus Green is a systemwide initiative to conserve, recycle, manage resources and construct "green" buildings. |
