Ask any undergrad, the end of the academic year is hectic- what with final exams just ended, graduation parties, saying goodbye to friends and year-end celebrations and all. Moving out is probably last on the list in terms of fun and adds more than its fair share of stress.

Students are given a deadline to move out of their housing areas and in this rush many re-usable items are thrown away.

In order to make donating ultra-convenient, we place food, clothing, and household item collection boxes in living room areas in Middle Earth and Mesa Court housing complexes. .

Additionally, centralized charity collection areas were set up in Arroyo Vista, Vista del Campo and Verano Place.

The event could not take place without the efforts of our enthusiastic volunteers- THANKS VERY MUCH!

Movin' Out for Charity

Facilities Management and campus housing have partnered with student volunteers to host the 3rd Annual Dorm Move Out for Charity event. The two-pronged goal is to keep reusable items out of the trash and put them into the hands of those in need.

Several truckloads of clothing, appliances, bedding, furniture and other 'student stuff" that otherwise would have been carted away as trash was collected and donated to the Salvation Army - a win-win situation in every sense of the word.
